Pixelated is a strategy game available for the Blackberry. The object of the game is to change the color of the squares until the entire screen is a single solid color. For each move you have a choice of 6 different colors to choose from and the goal is to do so in as few moves as possible (less than 20 wins). I actually had to read the directions to figure it out and spent a week practicing different strategies (viral growth, max surface area, 1 and 2 move ahead lookup and fastest left-to-right speed) until I figured out the optimal solutions sets.
But what's amazing to me is that my 4-year old just picked up my phone, starting playing with it and quickly figured out how to play. I am constantly amazed at how the young mind is able to understand and make associations between objects, cause and effect in the world around them. They say that a child's developing brain has twice as many synaptic connections than an adult. Imagine being able to grok new concepts that quickly - couple that with the magic of discovery and learning something new. Just wonderful.
